Slider Phone with Full QWERTY Keyboard, Multiple Messaging Options and Video Share Keeps You Connected

DALLAS, Oct. 23, 2008 — Samsung Telecommunications America (Samsung Mobile) announced today the October 23 availability of the Samsung Propel™, a fun and trendy messaging phone available in multiple color options. 

Exclusive to AT&T, and available in four color options – red/white, apple green/black, blue/black and a red\black version exclusive to RadioShack – the Propel is a messaging master. Vertically sliding open the phone, which features a large 2.2” display screen, reveals a fully integrated QWERTY keyboard, with a dedicated one-touch messaging key, making text messaging, instant messaging and Mobile E-mail quick and simple.

“The Propel is a stylish way to stay connected,” said Bill Ogle, Chief Marketing Officer, Samsung Telecommunications America. “With a full QWERTY keyboard, multimedia features and four color options, this handset has something for everyone.”

The Propel supports the AT&T Mobile Music suite of services, including full music downloads from Napster Mobile™ and eMusic Mobile, XM Radio Mobile™, and MusicID song recognition service. This stylish handset is also packed with a robust entertainment and multimedia feature set including AT&T Video Share, MobiTV, CV and AT&T Navigator.  

Additional key specifications of the Samsung Propel include a 1.3 megapixel camera with video capture, stereo Bluetooth® technology and a microSD™ memory card slot, supporting up to 8GB. Weighing just 3.79 ounces and measuring 3.85 x 2.33 x .58”, the Propel also includes dual-band 3G connectivity and quad-band GSM technology, which allows users to make calls in more than 200 countries and download data in more than 150.

Pricing & Availability

AT&T has priced the Propel for $79.99 with a two-year service agreement and after mail-in rebate. The Propel will be available through select AT&T retail locations or at www.wireless.att.com beginning October 25.
